thickness of router table top

i have a triton router weighing 13lbs. i was wondering how thick the table top should be. i plan on making the top out of mdf.

2 pieces of 3/4 " glued together.

I built my own router table via the plans from the new yankee workshop and it only requires one 3/4" for the top. I used 3/4" mdf and put a white laminate for the top.

There are some plans that only call for 3/4" - No offense, but I agree with Jerry - at least double it up if possible. It certainly can't hurt, and look at all the posts here about tables that have sagged - also, if putting a track or miter slot in it, you're getting pretty thin if you're only starting at 3/4". Besides, It adds virtually nothing to the total labor effort.

No offense taken.. I'm thinking about redoing my router top actually not because of this but other issues I find with it, but when I do i'll most likely double it.
