First,I want to thank you guys for the help regarding my toggle clamps. I think I have them figured out. Now, a new delemna. Ran across a Toro band saw, looks like its 20 years old at least. I think I can buy it for $50, but am sorta reluctant to do so. My instinct tells me to wait and put that $50 toward something more modern and flexible. I have nothing against old time tools. I just bought a Chicgo 5-speed drill press just because (a) it was cheap and (b) it looks like it will easily outlast me.
Your thoughts please gentlemen.

The first thing that comes to mind about this is that older tools were generally made of more substantial material than todays plastic and light gauge metal. Check it out as best you can with an Eye towards stability, operation and adjustments.
