I watched a Marc Sommerfeld video on shaker style cabinets. He was using the Triton TRA001 and changed router bits without raising the router to engage the shaft lock. Is there a way to lock the shaft other than the auto engage when the router is raised?

Ideally you unplug the router for safety's sake. Using his or Freud matching bit sets means not changing bit height when you drop in another matched bit. But video makers often skip safety measures for the sake of flow. The on off switch is a second safety device, so turning that switch off also prevents accidental startups. Looking at my Triton, I don't see another shaft lock, although I haven't used it for awhile.

Yes there is a manual spindle lock. It is the round plunger above the text in my picture. Took me awhile to find it when I first started using the router.
