One has taken a while - the other just a few days.

The first is a Shaker inspired clock - the top portion of a tall wall clock that I didn’t have the patience to attempt. Took more weeks of small steps than I imagined bit the results are fairly satisfying. All Cherry with a two-tone Pine back.

The second is a trim carpenter’s toolbox I found on the local CL for ten bucks - the seller’s father’s toolbox. It was covered in brown paint, so I promptly stripped it completely and left it in its original plywood condition with a few coats of Tung Oil. Two days of steady sweat in our increasingly hot and humid Tennessee weather.

Thanks, all. The toolbox had metal edging all over itself but added a good bit of weight, so I chose to delete it and am glad.

The next clock will be a fun one - and a greater challenge in finish work and clean detail. Sample pic attached - mine will be another square version without the lower case details. Gotta find some spiffy Cherry with great grain for the face first...

Thanks Dan - that toolbox took all the attention away from my clock but it’s what I expected from a bunch of toolhounds. Not sure if I’ll ever use that big ol’ box but it’ll be a good attention getter if I ever get to sell at a local crafts/antiques fair that’s been postponed here.

I’ll be posting a table-based slab milling setup soon...need to try it out first.
