Universal G Code Sender Weirdness

I am pretty new to cnc. I have a 3018 ProVer. I watched some Youtube videos about using Universal G-code sender instead of Candle. I have been using Easel to export G-code and then loading it in UGCS. UGCS works well, but is frustrating.
At first, it showed in real time where the router was cutting. It quit doing that.
After every project finishes, it seems to be locked and if I want to repeat the project, I have to restart the program.
When I restart the program, it sometimes won't connect to the 3018, so I have to unplug the USB and swap USB ports, refresh the port, then connect.
I have the newest version.
I have also seen a weird thing happen where the preview window cycles back and forth mirroring the image vertically.
Am I having a computer issue, 3018 issue, java issue, or UGCS issue?

I beleive your issue is computer settings for power saving. You need to modify those so the computer doesnt sleep or shut off USB etc. Also you can download an App called Mouse Move that makes your computer think you are actively moving the mouse. Simply turn it on when you run your program.

Try using Open Builds. I have used UGS in the past and had nothing but errors and operation issues with it. I do not even have UGS on my computer. Also make sure all your computers settings are set to NEVER turn off, and turn off the connect to the internet on your cnc computer, sometimes an update will run and turn off your computer.
