I've never done a project with veneer but I'd like to try a couple. Can anyone recommend a source? Thanks in advance.
Berry one thing to consider before you start buying veneer for a project is how you want to use the veneer. If you just want to cover a project with exotic veneer then you can buy enough to cover the item and a little waste and not worry about using grain patterns for decoration, but if you want to use those unusual patterns in the wood for book matching or making things like starbursts then look for fletches of veneer with heavy burl patterns or wild grain that can make spectacular statements when covering items. If you want to do inlay work then look for special deals on bundles of mixed veneers to get you started. I say to get you started because you will be getting all kinds of veneer cutoffs to use if you continue veneering.
