I have one like it. It has worked fairly well for me over the past several years.I noticed a neat Franklin stud finder at HD the other day. It's reviewed in this video. Locates the full width of the stud, which I prefer. Also helps locate horizoneal fire blocks for passing cables out of sight, inside the wall. I have one too, agree that it works well - when the battery isn't dead. I have one that looks like a little silver plastic horseshoe with a red magnetic wiggler in the center - works every time.I have one like it. It has worked fairly well for me over the past several years.
