Wanted Bosch RA1173 Dust Extraction Hood

Hi everyone,

Well, I had a little mishap while routing a letter sign yesterday. By accident my dust extraction hood for my Bosch router broke in two when the router fell over and put too much pressure on it.

Now I'm looking to replace it. The piece that I'm talking about is on the Amazon web site. Check it out -----> Click here to see the Bosch RA1173 Dust Extraction hood. I think it's too expensive and I don't need the whole kit itself, just the clear plastic hood. If anyone can help me find a cheaper one online or if you or someone you know has one that's not being used or don't want it please let me know. Thanks everybody!

It just so happens I will be passing a Bosch service center Thursday. I will see if the part is available by itself and let you know asap.

Ooooh, thanks a lot Mike! Yeah, if you can find out the price for me. I'm pretty sure it's the same price, well maybe. I hate to pay so much money just for the clear plastic piece! Later...

Sorry it took so long for me to drop into Bosch. They have 3 different kits for dust collection to fit the 1617 router. The kit you included a link to will remove dust in 3 different positions. They also offer a kit that is used for edging operations only, or for surface mounted operations only. These kits go for $28 each, so at $39 the 3 way kit is really the best of all options. One other thing, if you have the broken piece look for the 10 digit part number on it. It may be available by itself under that number direct from Bosch.

I actually got a hold of Bosch and they don't sell the piece by itself. They told me they are sold by the kit. Same price as Amazon's. Thanks for checking though. Later...
