'Cabinetmakers Oval Wood Screwdrivers'
Most screwdrivers are poorly designed for wood screws. The tapered tips slip and damage the screw head. The grind on the end is parallel, not tapered, but the sides are ground back from the tip. The flat on the blade is for applying more torque with a wrench or whatever for flush fit. The oval beech handles are easier to hold and turn than conventional round handles. Made in Sheffield, England with Sheffield steel. Garrett Wade imports some but I'm not sure who the actal manufacture is.
Anyone else know any more???
