I got to thinking may some of you need more a harder one to get the juices flowing. That is what this game is about.... or is it?

Look at the picture.

Now decide what the "tool" is that I have pictured.
Tell us about the tool and how it used.

To win you have to pick out the "tool" I'm thinking about, that's the hard part now isn't it.

I can only guess that "tool" is a #2 soft lead pencil used for making marks on solid surfaces. The pencil was probably used to make a shopping list to purchase a can of tomatoes and a can opener.

The tool pictured is a common can opener used to manually open cans in the kitchen for meal items.

The tool I believe you may be thinking about is the bench surface sander that the can and opener are sitting on.

My answer is so far fetched it just has to be right....

It's a styrofoam cooler. Works great to help keep your beer cold until you're done working in the wood shop.

You guys are all wrong. Look to the right of the pic. There is a brown bag. This is Ed's dust collection system.

He uses it to collect saw dust.

It appears to be a # 60, Kraft brown paper bag. It is gravity fed. Just put the bag under what ever he is using at the time, and gravity does the rest. So it is a "gravity fed dust collector".

I'm afraid you guys are missing the sneaky way Ed has chosen to display his styrofoam manual can opener fence. It is used, of course, to prevent splatter from opening cans of tomato sauce from getting all over tools that are no longer kept in their original container.

The can opener is the tool used to open the tomato can, empty the can of it contents and wash the can. Put some dirt in the can, add some worms. So long guys, gone fishing.

Some times I give hints in my first post like "juice" (which could be a hint about something other then posted..... like some people like the juice of a ..........) thus the hint. This tool I have used to help glue small things together, which might be another hint.....

Perhaps it's the magnet on the can opener. Ed probably took it off the last can opener. Now he puts the small pieces he is glueing together on a metal surface and puts the magnet on top to hold them together.?????????????

Ok Ed. There is glasses, Vodka, and celery in the cooler. You are making bloody Mary's and use the pencil as a swizzle stick!

Well....the can, when full of whatever product, could be used as a force or weight to hold small things together while the glue sets (remember Ed when we used to build model airplanes?) another use for the can and pencil is for drawing arcs or circles etc.
And another far fetched answer ... can opener opens the tomato sauce and then "gummy" router bits and tools are dunked in the acidic sauce to clean them. Tomato juice / sauce sure does clean up some metals better than elbow grease!

I guess you are going to use the sharp edge of the can to cut circles in the styrofoam, or use the pencil to draw patterns or shapes in the styrofoam and then use the sharp edge of the lid to cut out the patterns.

Or, WTH, lets get a beer out of the cooler before Ed screws it up.

YES the can! Great work Steveo! You can use them as weights, circles, empty them and create ovals, arcs, radius, transitions..... I cut a can open and used it on my bandsaw for a pulley guard, I have another emptied can for pencil holder.... great for soaking small parts on gum-off or for holdings some touch up paint or mixing a little stain up.... Who doesn't have a couple of cans of mismatched fastners sitting around????

I really liked a lot of the ideas..... fishing worms........ gravity feed dust collector bags....... using the styrofoam cooler...... styrofoam fence..... a lot of really good ones..... you people really out did yourselves!

Hey if you want to keep going with idea feel free I know I'd enjoy reading them.

its a small parts collection bin about to be prepare for use! (the about to be empty can)
