3/4 Straight bit for dados and rabbets. Looks like a Jesada bit cost approx 12.00
Ah yes the bit you need when you plunge! This one is made by Hickory, 1/4" shank 1/2" dia, 1" high. I found it on sale at TWC (thewoodworkerschoice.com) for $4.00 US. I wanted to try my hand at some signs this spring and wanted to see what flat bottom letters would look like.... someone mentioned this idea on another post back a couple of months......sluggo said:Ed,
This looks like a plunge cutting bit with a bottom center cutter. With the bottom cutter there is no need to predrill a hole before cutting. This bit could be used for stopped dadoes, mortising and interior cutout work. It looks like it's dia. is 1/2" of 3/4" with a 1/4" shank. Katana and MCLS are just two sources. The 1/4" 1/2" dia. costs about $13.00. I can't tell who the mfg. is although Jesade and Infinity use a white coating.
