Now that you guys have talked me into a Colt-and I am REALLY having fun, I got to wondering how many of you used some of the options. The round off-set base looks useful, since it would give me more stability. Like the one I have on a couple of PC routers up north.
I've been having a ball with that little rascal all week, building a coffee table top for wife. Gluing up 1X3 pieces after facing them with upcut spiral bit. Top is 50" X 25" and I am also running small grove along the glue lines which will be filled with black. Then sorta Rosewood finish. The wood is cheap Realto pine.
Okay. Any observations on options lemme know.

The colt is a great little router. I use it for mortising hinges & edge work.

I bought a Colt at a closeout sale and fell in love with it. The one I bought didn't come with anything but a couple of wrenches. It was only the single speed model as well.
Busy Bee tools has the Colt Variable Speed Carpenter's Kit on sale for $199.00 so I sold my single speed model on Kijiji for exactly what I paid for it (still a deal) and bought the set. Now I have all the attachments! Love it!
