I could see ONE, perhaps. but I see so many of these. I never participate in them, but I fail to see the attraction.

I've spent most of my life as a writer and I really enjoy the three main word games here. I often have to think through my response and anything that gets my brain going, it's word games. Only a few of use play them, and we have some comradery going. It's like anything, if you don't wanna, don't play.

I am more into visual challenges. I guess it is because I am LEFT-handed. I have no problem viewing the stereograms, but some people just cannot get their eyes to see the images.

I also like optical illusions. For example, believe it or not, all of the lines in this image are perfectly vertical and horizontal!

I could see the vertical but not the horizontal..... I measured and yes siree bobcat tail they are both correct.

I imagine you're great with images that are laid out flat and showing where they are folded at. If it's not a square box when folded up then I don't have the correct answer.

I read them, from time to time.

Visual illusions are fascinating. This one if fun. Which of the two gorillas is larger? The near one or the far one?

Answer below, but don't peek yet.

They are the same size. The periphery has converging lines and that is a visual clue that your brain treats as if it were 3D, of actually a hallway. I have collected many of these because they illustrate how the vision system actally works, sampling not only the main image, but also the periphery for spatial clues. The drawing is just flat, 2 dimensional, but our experience with hallways is 3D so the brain interprets the scene as if it were 3D.

What are word games?
A game in which players compete in forming, thinking of, or guessing words according to a set of rules.
A "describe the word game" is a word game where players attempt to guess a word by listening to their teammates describe it without actually saying the word itself or using any part of it. It's also known as a "taboo" game or a "word association" game.
Taboo:
Players try to get their team to guess a word by listing synonyms, but they can't say any of the forbidden words.

  • Charades:
Players act out a word or phrase for their teammates to guess.

  • Pictionary:
Players draw a picture to represent a word or phrase for their teammates to guess.

  • Alias:
Players describe words in a limited time and try to get their teammates to guess them
Sounds a little like having a discussion with my wife when she is reluctant to say what is really on her mind.
Speaking in riddles. Called matrimony.....

There are three active word games, use the last word first to form a 5 word sentence. Word association, what word occurs to you one seeing the last word posted. Add a word, drop a word, 2 words, use one, drop the other and add a new word to form a 2 word phrase. There are some other games, but they are not active.
