Default A new wall scanner

I had to hang a cabinet in the bathroom today and no way of finding those wall studs. In a house this old, 16" centers varies greatly. Anyways, I went into HD today, picked me up this little beaut. A Zircon i700. A little pricey but, so far, well worth it. Paid $60 for it. It will scan a wood stud, metal studs, metal piping, even electrical. Was just curious as to HOW accurate it is... well, it hasn't missed a single bit of wiring yet in this old house.

So, for now, I'll give it a 2 thumbs up.

Will let y'all know how well it stands up.

Ken

Hi Ken

They work great but it comes with a little bonus, you can use it on old/used lumber to find nails/screws/staples/etc. b/4 you put it on the table saw or the planer/joiner.

Good information to put away for now. I will be in need of the metal detector and now I can see a tool for two jobs in one.
