Default Kreg Customer Service

During one of my recent performance evaluations from my superintendant at work, it was observed that I was critical of jobs not done well, but didn't give positive feedback as easily...... So I try to focus on that now and give praise when deserved.

Anyway, I had a pleasant surpise dealing with Kreg customer service and I wanted to share. At a recent estate sale, I purchased a Kreg Rip Cut Rip-Cut
that looked to be brand new in the package. I got it for a very reasonable price and couldn't wait to try it out. Of course, I got home and it was missing a piece. I wasn't really too concerned, since the piece wasn't anything I couldn't fabricate, but it was still a bit of a bummer. I sent an email to Kreg asking for the price and availability of spare parts, and they contacted me and asked me which part I needed, and for a shipping address. They then sent it out to me without allowing me to pay for it, not even the shipping cost. That was an incredible display of keeping the customer satisfied in my opinion.

I was so tickled by their reply, that when I made a recent purchase at Amazon and needed to add a few more bucks to get free shipping I picked up the Kreg Multi-Mark as well. So far they are both pretty cool tools.

Multi-Mark

In short, not only does Kreg make pretty good tools and accessories, they have great customer service as well.

Too often we all just read the bad feedback on the internet so it's nice when you hear great feedback about a product or company.

I have had identical VERY POSITIVE experiences with Bosch, Freud and Grizzly for parts issues.

The plastic insert holding the router plunge gauge on a new MRF23 router was molded incorrectly, they sent a new one no charge at all.

I lost the super small set screw on the collar holding a Freud router bit bearing, they sent me 2 replacement screws and collars no charge, no hassle.

The fence on my Grizzly jointer had a twist to the ground cast iron. That had a new fence in stock and shipped it out no charge.

You and I are probably very similar in that aspect, Doug.

We expect things to be well done without expecting praise (call it work ethic or what you will) but will comment if something is below par.

One of my very first bosses told me that I was thanked on the 1st and 15th of every month via a paycheck, and it was up to me to make sure I earned it. These days, the younger guys seem to require A LOT more positive feedback.

I too had an occasion to call Kreg for service regarding their Pocket Drill kit.
Accolades to their customer service. Part replaced within a week -- no questions --- no charge. As far as I'm concerned they also have --- no competition.

Be well,
Marvin

Their CS is very good. Pocket hole drills come back really sharp and in a nice case.
A while back, I wanted tho buy their miter gauge. But, it's bar wouldn't fit my Shopsmith slots. They milled it to fit at no charge.
It's an excellent miter gauge, BTW.

I try to give feedback whenever can, positive or negative. While I usually wont go into elaborate details in any review, I feel that whatever I've said, be it an atta-boy or a dope slap, the seller or manufacturer deserve to know. And Grizzly - so far one of the best for woodworking tools

Kreg is an Iowa company located near the center of the state. When Kreg was first getting started, they came to our woodworking club and demonstrated all of their products produced. Since that time our club has toured Kreg twice and along with seeing firsthand how the company has grown, we have also been provided with very interesting and informative tours. If anyone is driving through the area, it would be worth the time to arrange a tour. The company has always been very interested in providing assistance and also looking for new and innovative ways to assist woodworkers. (I am not employed nor do I have any direct dealings with the company.)

I was astonished when the weld on the hold down clamp on my JET PRO fence broke loose after 5 years. A quick call to JET CS and all they asked for was a photo of the problem. On that basis they shipped out a new fence at no charge, freight paid. Good customer service should always be acknowledged to the interested public and bad customer service noted to the Company.

Cheers
Jon
