Default Musclechuck vs. Woodpecker?

Based on all the positive reviews I was seriously considering investing in a Musclechuck extension for my router table when I came across this announcement from Woodpecker

Xtreme Xtension from Router Technologies

Hence I would appreciate any comments from current users as to the relative performance, value for money etc on these two items.

Thanks in advance.

Jon

Jon,

According to the thread on the topic, the musclechuck only adds about a half inch of extension.

Whilst the MUSCLECHUCK does give about an extra 1/2" of depth of cut which in most cases is all that is required in order to stop the operator from "inching out" the bit, a dangerous thing to do, that is just a bonus. The main advantages of the MUSCLECHUCKis that it holds the bit tighter than any other chuck without cams, which can damage the bit shank and this is done with just a half turn of a 4mm Allen key. In my usual humble opinion, no 1/2" router is complete without a MUSCLECHUCK. Each of my three 1/2" routers have MUSCLECHUCKS.

Harry:

Thank you for the update and the suggestion on the discount. I will proceed accordingly.
