Just got the Grizzly G0513X2. I like the heck out of it. First BS I ever had. I am only having one problem. When I try to adjust the fence for drift, I freehand a scrap, clamp it to the table, then set the fence along the scrap's side. Looks good until I tighten the cap screws to hold the adjustment. The far end of the fence pulls away from the scrap about a 1/16th. Does this with or without the resaw fence attached. I tried tech support, but the girl was no help. Wondering if any of you may have an idea. Would appreciate it.

welcome to the community Bolo....

Have you tried just using the fence as your guide? I took great pains to set up my saw....wasn't really difficult just pick about it. Essentially little more than setting both upper and lower guides and having my blade run teeth (gullet) center crown on the wheel. I use to use a Grizzly 3/4" blade until I snapped it doing something really dumb. We wont' even get into that. I've had good luck with 12" mahogany resawn 1/2", 10" sugar (hard)maple, resawn 1/8 and a ton of stuff inbetween. I would suggest going into youtube, search "Snodgrass bandsaw" and watch a few of his setup video's... I'd venture a good guess that the problem lies somewhere in the setup...what blade are you using?

Welcome Bolo. I would also recommend the Snodgrass video. It may be the best 35 minutes you'll ever spend watching youtube.

Boy, I'm glad this string resurfaced. It is full of great information about bandsaws. On tensioning. On my fourteen/12, I set the tension to a bit below the mark for the blade width, and with the blade riding center of tire just behind the gullets, I feel the blade for deflection. It deflects with moderate one finger pressure about 1/4 inch, and tracks straight I'm happy. Seldom run with more tension than that. Although I have (and love) the Resaw King, I am quite happy with resaw results even from the half inch 3tpi Laguna blade, which looks a LOT like one of the bimetal premium blades.

And I do love the block guides. Really easy to set since they ride (lightly!) on the blade. These get set AFTER the blade is running true. I keep a little 12 inch Rikon in my shop so I don't have to change blades very often on the Laguna. The Rikon is a relabeled standard machine I've also found labeled as WEN and a couple of other brands. Same saw. The Laguna lives in the garage and is mainly for stock preparation at this time. My tools are split between the shop and the garage.

The more I do, the less I accomplish.

This has been an interesting write up and I have enjoyed reading very much! So much, I just popped for the same G0513X2. It was delivered yesterday and still crated setting on the carport.
Let's see how long it takes for me to get ambitious and set it up!

This is an old tread. I posted about my Rikon bandsaw which I had for maybe 6 months. I bought a Minmax S450 bandsaw which they call an 18 inch saw but it really is 450mm. My Minmax has stuck. I am not really looking for another bandsaw. I kind of looked for a drift fence but they were hard to find back then. I ended up putting a Kreg bandsaw fence with a 24 inch fence on my saw. What a great bandsaw and I am happy with the fence.

Thanks to TwoSkies57 and his review of the Grizzly 513X2, I now have a 17" 513X2BF that arrived yesterday. I also heeded his sage advice and made sure to get the foot brake and switch brake.

Thanks again sir, as your review made the difference.
