Air hose mounted blow gun

One of the tools that always seems to disappear in my garage (and at work) when I need it is the air hose blow gun. I saw an inline one in an industrial supply catalog and wanted to give it a try, but never got around to ordering it. The other day I found a similar one in Harbor Freight for $4, so I thought I'd give it a try.

After playing around with it for a couple of days, I have mostly good things to say about it. It is handy for quick clean ups, but it is not the same as your heavy duty blow gun. It doesn't really get in the way when using your air tools, but you do notice the extra length it adds to the coupler on the end of the hose.

I think it's a keeper for right now, but I'll add followup comments as I continue to play around with it.

Hi Doug

I don't use many air tools but I think that is a neat idea, someone came up with. I can really see the value to a person using a lot of air tools.

You are so right "the tool you need next can never be found", I could swear that next tool I need"has legs",,,,,, :)

Neat tool, be nice to know how useful it is in the practical application over time.

Hi Doug

That's a neat add on... so many times you want to blow the trash away from the drill or what ever..

I use air tools all the time, one of my routers is a air type..with tons of power..in a very small frame.. :)

Looks like I need to pick 3 or 4 of the blow guns..

Thanks for the heads up tip...But I just hate to go to HF with bucks in my pockets... :) they get the bucks and I get the bags/boxes... :)

A very neat idea Doug. Because compressors make so much noise, the only air tools that I use are a blower, paint sprayers and tyre inflater. I do have a die grinder but have never found a use for it.

Hi Harry

You can put the pump outside the shop,, :) just built a little house for it :)

You are missing out on a lot neat tools by not using your air..

The router below is just a over size die grinder :)

I bought a couple of those from Tractor Supply Co. Seemed like a good idea at the time...

1. They don't blow with as much volume as my regular blow nozzle.
2. I normally use two different blow nozzles, a short "regular" one, about the same size as this end of hose type. The other one, and the one I use the most, is about two feet long. I prefer to have the air blowing farther away from me, esp. when stirring up dust.
3. After a few days the brass push button fell out. There was nothing to hold it in except the friction fit through an o-ring. After the button fell out a few times I took the blowers back off my air hoses.

I hope you have better luck. Maybe the ones from HF are better quality than what I got form TSC (I can't believe I used "quality" and Harbor Freight in the same sentence!)

For anyone considering purchasing these from anywhere I suggest you pull on the brass push button to see if it will pull out. I report, you decide :D
