Finished glue up of the other end for bench and cut out the rest of the parts. Hopefully I'll assemble the frame tomorrow and get the middle shelf glued up.

Here is continuation of bench build from mikes plans for simple bench.
The first picture shows a slick method for clamping up assemblies using
a 5 inch L bracket and clamps. The second picture shows a clos up of clamping. The third picture is a picture of the basic frame assembled with the bench top just set loosely on top. Middle shelf is glued and drying . Tomorrow I glue up the top.

Nice work . Liking your idea with the brackets to temporarily make sure it's square

Thanks Rainman its Mikes design. Its one of the few times I used someone's design completely. That tip came from The family handyman tips. My corner clamps threads are going bad this is my replacement they exceeded my expectation.

Very neat and tidy looking Gary.

Someone I consider a master woodworker once told me that a master woodworker is not someone who never makes mistakes. He is someone who is able to cover them up so that no one can tell.

Very nice...really like the simplicity of using the L bracket for squaring...
