Default A need for two routers?

Hi everyone,

I've just joined this forum and and loving it! I have a quick question which I can't see answered elsewhere (apologies if there is such an answer and I've missed it).

I have a Dewalt router (625) which I've been using for about a year, and mainly use for cutting grooves, panelling, profiling etc for making basic furniture.

The more work I've been doing the more I could see a need for a slightly more 'delicate' tool (anything from engraving onto wood to smaller finer joints etc).

Firstly - am I right in thinking that smaller routers are easier to do finer work? or is it more a question of bigger routers can do everything a smaller router can, plus a bit more (because of the additional power)?

Secondly - if smaller routers are better for finer work would it make sense to get something like the Trend T4 which I've seen on various sites to complement the Dewalt?

Thanks in advance

Ed
