An MBO (as I call them) magically catches the cap after you open the bottle. I make 2 versions: one is a wall mount, the other magically sticks to your refrigerator.

If your refrigerator is attractive.

These are the jokes, folks.

I *never* use that other "M" word.

Just used the CNC to cut out the holes in the back that holds the magic ... quicker than using the drill press with 2 set-ups for the 2 bits. And now, the holes are perfectly positioned every time.

That's not magic, but I'll take it.

Neat idea, Henry! Do you keep bottle caps on hand for your shows so people can see this in action?

Where's the next craft show in town?
Too many pictures from the grandkids to put a bottle opener on the refer.

Actually, I keep a 6 pack of empty bottles, a home brewer's bottle recapper, and new bottle caps that I use to constantly re-cap the empties so I can demo the MBO opening the bottle and catching the cap. It's all about the demo.

What is the magic?
Magnets set into a drilled hole in the back of the board? How many magnets do you normally use? How close to the face of the board, so there is still some meat left on the face, yet close enough for the magic magnet to attach?
Thanks fo allowing me to be blind to the obvious.

Yes

How many magnets do you normally use?

Currently two. Just depends on the strength.

How close to the face of the board, so there is still some meat left on the face, yet close enough for the magic magnet to attach?Yes...and yes. I measured the thickness of the material and drilled close but not quiet all the way through...about 5/8 inch or maybe a little more. Test...and test. :-)
