I plan on making this from this idea mine will be designed around a plastic flower pot which I buy. Instead of putting the dirt on the wood.
As you can see easy project to make that you can tailor to your needs and materials.
Started my planter build. Here is first picture. Final leg not installed to be able to see how it is assembled. Last leg is leaning against the frame.
Hopefully the frame will be finished and stained in the next couple days.
I've got side tracked from this project. On one of those 5 minute projects. That has now turned into a 2 day problem. I had a piece of siding with a whole in it. Watched videos on how to take the piece out and replace. It did only take about 20 minutes but the profile of my siding didn't match the existing siding. I went back again today and looked at the samples and found the right form but they were getting ready to close there supposed to have 2 square of the siding but weren't able to find stock. They sell by the piece can't complain. I can probably fix the piece but would have an odd seam. That piece had about 5 or 6 inches of over hang on the two ends. So I cut the piece just before the hole on the left side. So I can shift the seam to the left 1 inch to cover the whole and still have and inch over hang on each joint.
compromise on the panel and use FRP or thinner Hardie Board...
the HB will have dimples/grain/texture/grooves, will add to the design and be bullet proof come Mother Nature...
the FRP will be a close 2nd...
If you're buying plastic trash cans might be cheaper, and they come in various sizes. If you don't want to buy, those 5 gallon spackling buckets can usually be found free. Keep some in your garage, with a growing light, and you could pretty much grow veggies year round. And I am NOT talking about those veggies you smoke.
Those look great Gary. You could use transparent, translucent or frosted plastic panels and add solar lights to the planters, that would help light the walkway.
Those are plastic transparent panels that is a great idea. There lexan panels. My track saw was great for cutting those panels really smooth edges. I tried it with one of my path lights the planter box is even with the bottom of panel light only comes out the bottom planter on the ground. May be a rope light hung around planter box?
I bought enough material to build 2 just completed the second . I had to get a new phone this time bought a phone with a decent camera. Trying out new camera.
I use slate tiles in some planters The idea is to create a planter that is not only functional but distinct, I.e., not a design you can buy at the garden center or nursery.
