Default Broken Clamp Parts

Can anyone tell me if you can buy replacement parts for these 18" clamps?

The head broke off and there is a wing nut which allows you to take the head off the clamp. I was hoping to buy some more spare heads in case they break again.

Here is a picture of the clamp. The one on the left is broken.

I think you are out of luck. But as 1 door closes, another one opens. If you drill the correct size hole in your bench top of leg, you have an adjustable hold down clamp. Or make a new jaw by laminating one out of 3 layers of plywood.

Are they plastic or Aluminum?

I could make one (I think) for you but the shipping would cost more then a new clamp (My Guess).

Ya got access to someone local with a machine shop? You could make them; from the picture it doesn't look like it's too complicated.

They are made of plastic hence the reason it broke and was only $12.99 .

They look like the MIT branded clamps. I have a bunch of those I bought from ACE hardware. Pretty cheap pricing.
I saw a thread on another forum where someone took one and made a bandsaw fence. Mounted one end of the bar in the fence and used the clamp to lock it to the table edge.

Now Mike your going to get me in trouble because I do not have a Band saw and would have to go out and buy one to make use of the two clamps I have now broken.

Great idea !

Do you have a band saw? If you do what size do you have.. 14" or larger?

Mike,

What do you think of your 14" Delta w/riser? I've had one w/o the riser for about 10 years and finally decided to give it a makeover as I'm getting tired of wasting good wood on the planer, planing it to size. I've got a riser kit, timberwolf blades, carter spring, detensioner and rod setup (mine got bent in moving) and a kreg resaw fence in the mail. And yes, its moving just as fast as the "check in the mail"!

Mike

If you had to do it again would you get a 16" Band Saw over a 14"?
If so why or would you go 18" What the most common thing you do with it? I usually like to resaw wood because I buy 8/4 Maple and it is cheaper that way but when I use the tablesaw the blade takes more wood compared to a Bandsaw.

I assume the riser kit allows you to cut wider boards? What is the maximum width board you can cut upright onthe BS?
