Default Jorgenson Clamp has me baffled!

Baffled by some simple plastic doo-dads!! Disgusting ain't it. Okay, heres the situation. I have Jorgenson #1652 Quick Release Hold Down clamps. They are real purdy and look well made. But how do you use them. I drop them down the hole, bring screw/slide locking piece up under my new workbench and....and....then what? I fix them on work piece and screw up tight from below. Big deal. What does the lever do? Apparently I'm expecting more from these than they can produce. Screw them up tight to work piece from below and then jam lever down onto work piece? Wow, I can do that with my old fashioned metal bench dogs.
Show me the way and the light and the path fella's.

Adjust the bridge to the optimum position. Make sure that the cam lever is in the open position. Bring up the locking collar from underneath, and rotate it to tighten the bridge. One end of the bridge is on the work. The other is on the bench. When tight, lock the cam lever. I use these on my workmate.

Okay Mike; thanks. I was on the right track. It just seemed to be a lot of far**ting around to clamp something to my bench.
I seem to have accumulated a batch of things in my little shop that have been used maybe once or twice and now collect dust. I know the rest of you guys are more professional than me and don't have that problem.
I am trying to get better.

Yeah, right. I have a lot of stuff like that.

Those Jorgensen clamps are very expensive. I've three identical ones that didn't cost 20 bucks for the three of them that I also use with my Workmate.

I still don't know what your talking about.

Sorry Explorer:
I was talking about some bright orange plastic clamps that have a shaft that drops through a 3/4" hole in the bench top and then, using leverage, forces work down against the bench top. To my mind they are a pain in the butt to use and I thought it was because I didn't understand the way they operated. I guess I DID pretty much understand the way they worked, but they still appear to be a pain. And I don't see the "quick" aspect of their utilization.
I fear they are destined to be entered into my Tool Museum....which sits on a very high shelf in my shop area. People come in and gaze at all the marvelous devices displayed way up there. They always ask "but how do you get them down to use them." And I always just smile and thank them for dropping by.
Maybe some other members have a Tool Museum too.
