Default Window cutout

I have a piece of 9 x 12 hardwood stock 1" thick into which I need to cut a 6 . 9 window. It is important that the sides of the cut be straight and the angles accurate. I've tried my hand-held jigsaw but the result is too sloppy. What would you recommend for tool and technique?

Hi Bill

The router is great tool for that job,,you just need to make a quick template,,many ways to do that that, the real easy one is the same way you cut out the hole for a router mounting plate in a router table , but this time you would use your brass guides to keep the router running true inside of the template..

Here's a easy way to make a template..
