Default DeWalt DW735 - $279 at HD

I was just up at Home Depot and saw the DW735 on clearance for $279. The tools manager said he had just marked them down a few minutes before and only had three. I was tempted to buy all of them but only one came home to live with me. As I was checking out another guy was picking one up. I don't think the third will last long.

BTW...I didn't realize that HD gives a 10% discount for veterans. I guess I have to start carrying a copy of my DD-214.

when the 735 came out it was a big innovation over the older dw planers. either hd is phasing out the dewalt planers or dewalt is coming out with something even better.

lots of times hd and lowes stops selling one brand to make their in house brands sell better, ie ridgid ryobi, hitachi, and the new cheap porter cable brand lowes is selling. i cant believe porter cable is putting out this line of tools.

it would be sad if hd stopped selling dewalt just to sell a ridgid, which is probably good, but isnt of the quality of dewalt.

I read somewhere that some Home Depots had them for less than $200. I'll bet when they are gone, they'll restock them at full price. I bought a 734 last year when all the Lowes had them on clearance. A week later the shelves were full again at full retail. Kind of funny how these stores operate.

hi Rusty,

lets hope that is true. id hate to see them selling a ryobi or ridgid as their top of the line planer.

In some areas they have got for as little as less then 150.00....It appears the closeout is area by area, not all stores have em and not all are closing them out at the same time. This is a curious one, considering that planer is probably the best bench top planer out there right now...and for a couple hundred bucks, its a steal...
