Default New to the Forum . A jig saw ?

First I would like to say Hi .

I like to watch DIY shows . That is here I get allot of my ideas good or bad . I have seen something years ago that has stuck in my mind and I thought I would run it past all of you . A DIY host was repairing some molding he was using a Jig saw that was mounted on a peace of Plexiglas from under neath like a table mount jig saw . It did not look safe to me but I thought I would run it past others before I would try it . I can see how it would be use full but I am not share about it .

Thank

Mike

Hi Mike,

Sure, you could do it... probably a whole lot easier/better to scour your local craigslist though. I've seen them for ~$20 from time to time... your call.

I have and old Contractor saw table that has an insert that will work for one . It will take a router circler saw and a jig saw . I just never seen one used in till that show . Here is a pic of the table I have .

Funny you ask, I just mentioned doing that in a post about 4 threads below this one when asking about a bandsaw under $200:

Jigsaw in base plate LINK

I've seen a fancier one in a magazine where they put an arm and bearings on it to make it work a bit more like a bandsaw.
