Default Caveat Milwaukee Emptor

I was so pleased with myself that I managed to get a drill+impact driver combo from Milwaukee for <$200. It was the M18 series with compact batteries:

Power Tools - Combo Kits - M18™ Cordless 2-Tool Combo Kit

When the cordless circular saw (2630-20), also ostensibly M18, came on sale, I went and bought it. Unfortunately, the batteries will not fit it.

It p...ed me off: Nowhere on the packaging or in the manual does it say that the compact batteries do not fit and that you have to buy the high capacity ones. The only place this info is available is if you actually pull up the specific battery info on line. If you pull up the *tool* info it says nothing about the compact batteries not fitting.

My 14.4V Hitachi combo (RIP) run similar tools off the same battery thus this seems to me a shameless trick to get more money out of unsuspecting punters.

The tool is going back and I shall be very wary of buying Milwaukee in future.

I don't own the 18v Milwaukee set, but I have the Milwaukee Li-ion 28v set and they are the worst battery packs I've owned, even the replacement batteries I received fall far short of others I've owned and used for many years, including many brands and many voltages.
