Default working with weathered wood

I am working with old oak pallet wood . after I make a cut, I am putting the grain back in by hand. I am looking for a non-acid way to restore the gray color. I have seen the gray paint suggestion but I have heard there might be an easier way, spray on, not sure .
thank you for you suggestions!
