Default How to make Driftwood

Hi everyone,
can anyone give me some tips and tricks/Process for making wood look and behave and respond to working as if it were genuine driftwood, IE been bleached by the sun in a saline soluion bath for some significant time. I am only able to come up with what you would expect from a newbie, ie soak it in salt bath and leave out to the sun for X amount of time. Luckily I live 2 miles away from the biggest salt supplier for the UK. So Salt no probs, just wondering if there are any trade secrets I am not aware of...
Please help
