milescraft inlay kit

i recently bought an inlay kit (milescraft) the base plate is broken. Will a good glue mend it strong enough? If i back it with a thin sheet of plywood, would i be affecting the performance negatively

Arnold, I think glue is worth a try but if that doesnt work I would just order a replacement.
