Default Router purchase help

Ive read every article on this forum and every article on several other sites that I can find and the more I read the more confused I get. Here's the deal. I'm a hobby woodworker just getting started. I'm looking at purchasing a router and table for simple jobs most specifically a few raised panel doors for some cabinets. It will not be heavily used by now means. I would like one of the combi kits in case I need a plunge router down the road. Also of major importance to me is above table bit height adjustment. I can't justify the cost of a lift. Any suggestions?

Hi, check the woodgears.ca site This fellow has made some impressive lifts and tilts, made from wooden gears. His lik to another site shows one of his buds who had made an automatic lift with a car window motor.
Good luck Fred

papawd,
I can't send private messages yet since I haven't hit 10 posts yet. Working on it though. I think I can receive them though if you want to shoot me one. What kind of table is it?

Since you don't want to spend any more than you need to and will be using these items on a limited basis it is hard to go wrong with the suggestions BJ made.
The Grizzly table at $129 is the best deal going and the 2 hp Craftsman combo kit for $109 has the most features for the least money.
