Default Laminate File recommendation

Hello Fellas,

I am in need of a file to do laminate trim work. All of the recommendations from my online research point me in directions of plasti-file brand files. However, I can't find anything along these lines at the big box stores.

Can someone recommend tool for the job that can be purchased locally? (Ace, Sears, HD, etc.).

Thanks!!!

Greg

Check your local area for the plastic laminate suppliers...like Wilsonart, Nevamar, Pionite, Laminart, Micarta, or Formica. Most of them sell supplies to cabinet shops, and carry the Plasti-Cut mill files. They are worth using, even if you have to order them. Also get a file card...to keep your file clean.

Most distributors have a "over the counter" for retail sales.

Hi Greg

Here in the UK we don't have that option - plastics files are almost impossible to come by. Most of the time I just use an off the shelf 2nd cut (fine) metalworking file, 8 to 10 inches long and kept solely for dealing with plastics (never let it go near metal). I buy Bahco engineering files and they work OK for me - here we can buy them almost anywhere that sells tools

Regards

Phil
