Default delta 22-580 planer bearings

I received a planer from a neighbor who said the bearings were bad. being t he handy person I am I began to take it apart to get at them to replace. I cannot figure out for the life of me how to get them out or how to get the blade bar out etc. Any help on this?

You should be able to right click on the photo, open in new tab, thn scale it to get a blown up view. Or just print it.

I checked that too and it appears that there are retaining screws at the ends of the shaft. Remove them and you may be able to move the shaft inwards on one end enough to allow it to drop down and then slide the other end out. I had the cutter head out of my stationary King years ago and it seems to me that is how it worked.

Someone I consider a master woodworker once told me that a master woodworker is not someone who never makes mistakes. He is someone who is able to cover them up so that no one can tell.
