Default Does this look like a metal or woodworking band saw?

Listed in my local Craig's list as a Table Saw... ROTFLMAO!!! They don't seem to know what it is. They are asking $300.

What do you guys think? Should I go see it?

Okay- called on it. We both had a laugh. His wife listed it. There is actually 2 items they are selling- a table saw and a band saw. Band saw is 16". He will call me when he gets home from work to tell me brand and model. He's asking $500 for the band saw.

I guess we'll see how this pans out. That price would be really stretching what I have and hard to get past Sharon. She knows how I've been saving for my sliding table cabinet saw... and I told her I wasn't going to buy any more tools until that. But if I can get a screaming deal on something.

Hi Mike

I would pass on that one ,it looks like a HF Band saw, now if it was 125.oo I would look it a bit harder at it..but he is way to high to start off with..

Mike, I agree with Bob, looks like a good thing to stay away from, and way to high priced!

I have found that hand tools are the best choice when I want to make mistakes at a slower rate of speed.

I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.

You were right. Same factory in Taiwan as HF, Grizzly, Jet, ShopFox, etc.. It was a Foremost 14". Since Foremost Machinery (Kent, WA) went bankrupt in '98, that would make that saw over 5 years old... and this guy was asking over what the new price was back then.

Had to pass.

Agreed, take a pass - where is the table part and trunnions?

Save for the sliding table saw.

Good luck Baker

Looks like it might have been used for meat cutting and it looks incomplete. I vote with the "Pass" guys.

$500 isn't a screaming deal, not really a deal at all as far as that goes, plus, I didn't even see a table on that saw.
