Default A Trial Incra Router Plate Insert Ring

I can't remember right now which thread it was that the concept of drilling holes in ZC TS insert was recently brought up by MIke, Anyway the concept being used in an inert ring for router plates and being marketed by Incra. I checked with Mark on the price and will probably buy the set but I wanted to try the idea for myself first. I took an older rather scruffy ring and drilled some holes in it and gave it a try. What a difference, it worked extremely well. Before drillint the holes the DC was getting about 80% of my cuttings, with the holes in the ring it gets 100%.

See the photo attached.

What is the price for a set Jerry? I tried to find it one day but struck out.

Someone I consider a master woodworker once told me that a master woodworker is not someone who never makes mistakes. He is someone who is able to cover them up so that no one can tell.

Sorry that it took me so long to get back to your question Charles. Right now the price, as I recall, is about $54.00 for the set, but that might be currently a sale price. You can buy them individually for $8.95. I have never used but two of the ones that I have and since the one I experimented with works so well, I think that for now I'll just buy one for the larger diameter bits.

Kinda makes one wonder why it took them so long to figure it out, they need to hire Dick Willis as a consultant, hard to tell what good stuff Incra and Dick could come up with.

Years agao when working as a financial adviser we would suggest that people put money in their budget for the new stuff that would be coming on the market that they didn't even know about at the time, but couldn't live without once they saw how the new item worked. Sure is true and really is applicable to the woodworking.

I tried to send Charles a PM on his question but when I clicked on Send Message there was not a way to send to him. Am I missing something or does a member have an option to not receive PMs?

Thanks Jerry. I get quite a few PMs but I have been having some internet issues the last day or two. It quit on me for a while yesterday. Maybe that was the problem.

They aren't overly expensive and they do work so I imagine they will catch on.
