Default bandsaw tire type?

Recently I lost a tire on my 14" delta bandsaw. I'm thinking about Urethane tires. Does any one have experience with these type tires? Second question I'm looking at. 0.125" Blue Max brand. This is their 'top of the line' and commands a $10 premium over their standard offering. What is your opinion.

Thanks for your input

Ben

I still have the rubber tires on my band saw, but I think this is a great overview of urethane tires, including benefits and installation:

I put urethane tires on my 14inch Delta a couple years ago. They work very nice and seem smoother. Do read instructions or watch video before installing to save a few cuss words!

I put urtheane tires on my Shopmith band saw after the 30 year old ruuber one failed
If you get one that goes on real easy it is to big ( Shopsmith had some that were to big)

The urtherane ones don't use glue

Ask youself the question - how long did the cheapest ones the manufacterers could find last? If you go with the cheapest ones again, will they out last you?

Default Urethane bandsaw tires

Thanks to all of you for your response and good advice. I have watched the video which has good tips. I'll place my order for the urethane tires and let you know how the installation went in a week or so.

with warm regards
Ben

Ben anyone considering installing new bandsaw tires should watch this video. It sure ain't the Wood Whisperer video. Why make a job harder than it actually is?
