Default I've found a new way to make fire!.

Just.. route a piece of phenolic plywood using (probably) the wrong bit :P.

I could even see the embers!...

I will post images later if you need them, but I don't honestly know what happened.. using the same bit for MDF and no issues, now when I used it on the plywood.. fire, fire everywhere...

The bit seems to be ok, only a little bit discolored.

here you are trying to burn the place down....

This would have been the week that I'd have finished chewing thru the restraints...
If only new layers hadn't been added....

Yup, something went wrong, and I started smelling burnt wood, then smoke, then little embers, then I stopped. Funny thing, the saw dust left by the router is extremely flammable!, one little ember set on fire a lot of dust in a split second.

Unless I am missing something, IMHO retire the bit It is now much more brittle and likely to break, and it is much less sharp than it was before the heating.

I thought about it, but it only seems discolored, do you think the heat was enough to trash it?.

Anyway I don't really need to use it, I will have it there in case of emergency or something.

There was likely something wrong with the bit to begin with. Trash it.
