Default New Bandsaw and thanks

Recently I asked for advice on buying a new band saw.
Well I got about three pages of replies -- thank you all for your input it made my decision easier.
Just to let you know I took deliver of my new band saw five days ago.
Laguna model 14/Twelve and it is working very well thank you.
I did consider the Laguna SUV but it had a 3 HP 15A motor and my shed power is only 10A.
The 14/Twelve has a 1 3/4 HP motor. I re sawed a pc of 8" hardwood without any problems
Thanks every body I am now a Happy Camper with my new band saw.

Sound's good, let's see some pictures. BTW one of the best re-saw blades you can get is the "wood slicer" from Highland Hardware in Atlanta these are really great blades, as are others I am sure.

I took a drive to Rocklers in Pittsburgh yesterday. They have several band saws on display. Powermatic, Lagona and Jets. Of the bunch, the Laguna was the most impressive. A FINE looking piece of equipment.

I was in Laguna's HQ recently when a friend went in and bought one of their 220 models. Their saws in general are built so well, but for the money, the fourteen/12 is just outstanding. It is on my list. Everyone on this Forum who has purchased one has offered similar praise about its resaw capability. Enjoy!

There's a huge selection of bandsaws across the world and some are made b the same manufacturer, but badged and coloured differently. It can therefore be difficult to know what to buy. Best advise would be to have a full demonstration and ask as many questions as you can about it. Also consider the length of the guarantee, as this shows how confident the manufacturers are about their product.

I recently upgraded my bndsaw from a small and old DeWalt to a new Record BS400 (16"), which may not mean a lot to you outside the UK, but Record have a good rep her and offer a 5 year guarantee.

Having only just joined ypu 'merry men' ...... and ladies of course, I was looking to see if any members are from the UK. Unfortunately the members list does no identify any sort of location, which may be helpful ???
