I had a late '80's Master Mechanic--probably didn't cost much over $10 (if that) new. After a few years of reading WW forums and how people used them all the time--i thought they had to be crazy. Stumbled into a "used & returned" Bosch for light money at a box store one night...Holy Cow!! First time i tried it, i was amazed. First time i had to use it for real--it paid for itself because i didn't have to visit my dentist to have fillings reinstalled!!

I do have the barrel version and can only parrot what everybody else has said. I use it for a lot more uses than I ever thought I would. Wouldn't give a thought to breaking down sheet goods with my B&D but this Bosch has basically replaced the skil saw for that.

Also use the Bosch blades. They are as good as the saw with ground teeth and also being made in Switzerland. I just skim cut some 2X6 ends that I errantly cut a smidge long after rigging up a guide for a track. The cut was as smooth as a baby's backside. I was shocked. The pic doesn't do it justice. The thickness I took off was right at a blade thickness.

I have the Bosch 365 the cheaper model it also much better than my black and Decker. I didn't have room for a band saw so I upgraded to the Bosch.

I sure hope it works better than the old Skil (I know this was discussed a couple weeks ago but I suppose I won't be really convinced until I try it).

This would have been the week that I'd have finished chewing thru the restraints...
