Default Patience is sweet

I have been contemplating a new planer purchase for several months, looking on e-bay, amazon, craigslist and the like. In all my wanderings, and yes, even to pawn shops, I could only find DW 734's or similar planers. I had my heart set on a DW 735.
While browsing yesterday, I found a 735 that was 6 months old and rarely used. It had infeed and outfeed tables with it. Called the gentleman and set up the meeting. Drove 1 1/2 hours to his shop and drowled all over his equipment and what he called his scrap wood. Hardwood. Cherry, poplar, oak, walnut in 12" x 10 ' lengths. Sweet.
Anyway, I was able to buy the planer, tables, and rolling stand for $350. What made it sweeter was the fact that I had the money for such a deal for the first time in years to be able to jump when the time presented itself.

Steve as you found out cash talks. In my opinion a person should always pay cash for play pretties.

I have a DW 735 and really like it and I hope you enjoy yours.

Measure once cut twice and it's still to short.

Money talks and BS walks. That's what the ole timers always told me. Glad you were able to buy the planer. I'm sure you will like it and get a lot of use out of it. Patience is a virtue only learned over long periods of time. VOE

What a great deal. Even if you have to replace blades, you got a steal.

My wife laid down the law when I was shopping for a better table saw, pay cash or don't buy. Funny how fast that envelope fattened up once I got motivated.
