I recently bought a 1" radius round over bit by Freud. I have always been happy with the quality of the Freud bits. When I put it in my router in my router table, it had quite a bit of vibration that I was not happy with. When I put a dial indicator on it, it had .009" run out :frown: when I rotated the bit. I thought that was unacceptable based on how much it vibrated. The supplier that I got it from said that I could return it because it must have been defective. Later I remounted the bit into a different collet and only had .003 run out. Hmmm. I have always read that you should replace collets every year or something. I didn't think that anything could go wrong with them but I am wondering if I have been mistaken all these years. What are the feelings about this?
