I learned long ago, before you make a trip like that, call first and check. Saves a lot of time and gas money if they don't have what you want/need. I would try the same thing with Lowes. I've also done that when trying to track down something specific in my area - We don't have it. OK, do you have a number for someone who would. Repeat as necessary. Last time I did that took about 6 calls before I found someone that had what I wanted. Probably took around 1/2 hour, and saved a lot of gas.

Some days, the supply of available curse words is insufficient to meet my demands.
.....Call me a craftsman, artisan, or artistic, and I will accept that. Call me an artist and you will likely get a quite rude comment in return. I am not a @#$%ing artist.

The corollary to that is always get the name of the person you're speaking to. When you show up and ask for the item and they say"Dunno who you spoke to, but we don't have that..." you come right back with "it was Mike" or whoever.
If the person on the phone knows you can identify him/her they're more likely to get off their butt and actually check stock.

The other day I was looking for something, and found it on Wallyworld. $4+. Then decided to see if Amazon has it too. Yes indeed, same exact thing, for $12+. Pays to shop around.
