I have the same HF collector. It leaks dust . I found that most all of the screws, bolts & nuts were NOT tightened fully as well as the bag securing method not the best.
I tightened them all and added a felt strip around the bag for a better seal. Big difference.

Default shop made dust collector/ purifier

Just finished this tonight. Made entirely out of scrap that I had in my garage. Got the 2 speed blower motor with switch for 15.50 off ebay. I have about $59 total invested in this project. Thats filters, motor (w/ shipping), latches and weather stripping. I also have a jet 650cfm dust collector with a 1 micron felt bag (upgrade). And a shop vac too.
