Default "What is it?" #140

If you are not sure of how this works please read some of the other posts and sticky items.

Now for tonights quest...... Take a look at the picture, be the first one to answer "What is it?" with the correct answer and win 100 points and get your name listed as the winner!

The correct answer will be a description of the item, how they work and what you might use them for. You have to answer all the parts for your answer to be correct.

As a hint these come from France. The pencil is for a size reference only is not part of the answers I'm looking for.

Good luck,

Ed

They look like the solid rivets I use to hold on brake linings. Can either be hammer set, or if doing a bunch of them, use an enerpac "c" clamp

They look like rivets that are used for fastening handles on knives.

actualy one half of the rivet is pressed into the other half that looks the same except it has a hole in it.

this is why there are really 50 compleat units.

Winner!

Very good job by both of you! How ever delroys33 answer was a bit more correct and he is the winner!

These rivets are really cool to use and very easy to use... the ones shown are for materials in the 5/8" to 1" range but they can be sized down or you can purchase other sizes. They are made of brass and run about $8.50 US for the bag of 50.
