Default What is this?

Upcoming estate action and I want to go to bid on a bandsaw... In the auctioneers preview pictures is this:

Anyone have any idea what it is?

Note, the decease did both metalwork and woodworking... For instance he made pieces for the Lady Washington, tall masted sailing ship.

It looks like a EDM cutter to me.

It is hard to tell much from just this one picture. Is there any additional information with the picture? It looks like there are two pieces on the near side of the device to locate the workpiece and a screw that secures it from the top.

A whole new area of wood burning to be explored?

Doesn't work that way Dan. Think of this as a mini arc welding tip for cutting.

ROTFLMAO! I do!

Here is the link to current estate auctions.
http://www.garrisonauctioneers.com/P...Auctions2.aspx

The one I'm going to is on Sept. 22nd, Ken Adamson Estate, Elma. Lots of tools, machinery and stuff. You'll see the picture. No explanations given there.

I'm hoping that with the way things are depressed around here that I might be able to luck out on that band saw. You all know I can't afford much right now. I was browsing through to get a better look at that band saw, saw that picture and started scratching my head. If it is really "something" and then if others there might not know what it was... well, I wouldn't be able to buy it anyways? But it is sort of a curiosity isn't it.
