The spouse took a beginner scroll saw course at Lee Valley and the book they recommended was the Scroll Saw Work Book. It's an excellent book for beginners. I have been working through it on my own.

EGO postulo , EGO venalicium , EGO incidere.
I measured, I marked, I cut.
Latin instructions for firewood.

The new scrollsaw handbook by Patrick Spielman

This one is good, I have it. I got into woodworking with the scrollsaw.

Another nice thing about Steve Good's Scroll Saw Workshop is if you submit your Email address he sends out a free pattern every day.

crash,

go to Half.com and search for scrollsaw or scroll saw. There are tons of great pattern books for peanuts.

I wish I had never discovered Half.Com!!! Between movies and books at dirt cheap prices I can't afford to buy many other things I need worse. I think 75% of my income goes to Amazon, Ebay and Half.Com. In fact once I logged out of the Router Forum my next stop is Half.Com.
