Default A scrollin we will go, a scrollin we will go....

Hi ho the derry o, a scrollin we will go.
Cute eh?

Anyway, I picked up a new, to me, SS today. A 1952 or so Delta 16" 40-110.
Drove an hour each way to pick it up. It's in very nice condition, but I've started taking it apart for cleaning and paint. Nothing like old arn, eh?

I had been considering a 24", but I just don't have the room for one of those monsters. This one is replacing my newer 16" Delta with a sloppy arm.

And yes, the lamp was the clincher.

LOL. It means another new something, to be determined. I have to build a stand for it, but already have one for an old table saw with vintage Craftsman legs. If I can't find a Delta stand, I may use that.
Can you tell I like the old tools?

Old tools usually do work better than newer counterparts, that one looks heavy and solid

It didn't need any repairs, just new oil, cleaning, and a coat of paint. I'll get some pics of it tomorrow. I didn't gussy it up with chrome, but it's a clean user now.
I'm working on making a table for it now.

Default All done

This one didn't take long at all. Nothing broken, or missing.
I painted it GM engine blue. As this Ford retiree took the paint can off the shelf, the hands shook mightily, and it felt like a spirit was holding me back.

Thumbs up

Nice looking SS.....well, except for the color.
Ford Cobalt might've been a better choice.
Only kidding. It's a beautiful job.
