Default New to scrolling

I've been involved in woodworking most of my life but have just discovered scroll sawing. I must say that I'm very impressed at the quality of work that is being done out there. My first scroll saw portrait was just a free image from the internet ( thank you to the designer "Vaz Stencils" ) My second portrait is 100% my own work, from making the pattern to the finished portrait.I'm happy with my results so far but want to do more and more. I find it very addictive. I just thought I would post here and maybe get some feedback from other scroll saw people.
Great forum, I love seeing all the work, tips and tricks from everyone.
Cheers

Welcome Mitch.

Interesting, I frequent two excellent forums daily. This one and Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts Message Board

Yesterday I referred someone on the scroll site here for router info, and now I return the favor. Both are great groups of woodworkers who are knowledgeable and helpful.

I am SteveK on that forum.

Btw, your work is great!

Hi Mitch Welcome to the Forum

Scrolling was my second step into woodworking. I still have a lot of my old patterns,
and with my new technique for transferring patterns, I may just pick it up again. Nice
job on the scroll work, (now here's where I yell at you ) but shame on you... you
got me sidetracked with that little comment on stencils, which led me to other sites
for other patterns, and now I've been d/l stencil & silhouette patterns for the last hour
or more

Welcome to the group. I am new on here too but am on a lot of scrolling forums. I will add to the list of suggestions above. Check out Sheila Landry designs. She is known as the foremost Scroll saw pattern designer. She also has a lot of tips on her web site and Utube. Don't hesitate to contact her with questions about scrolling, she loves to teach. Also check out Sue Mey out of South Africa, another great designer.

Thanks for the links Ray, I do go to those places quite often.
Thank you as well Barb, and sorry for sidetracking you I know what you mean, I lose hours on the internet just looking at all the great things people do with their scrolling, when I only meant to be on for ten minutes.
