Default Need help identifying this font

I am going to attempt to attach a sheet of letters that was given to me by my niece, who is a kindergarten teacher. She asked me to cut out two sets of the alphabet for her and she thinks the kids will really like this font, she found the page in an old desk at school.

I spent over an hour on dafonts.com looking for it until I couldn't even see anything close i.e. the serif on the left side of the letter "A".

Thanks for your help.Need help identifying this font-alpha-train-letters.jpg

I'm guessing that all you have are the letters A thru I as you showed in the image. I think the letters were originally hand drawn are not an established font. When you say you are going to cut them out, do you mean from wood or vinyl? Here are images of a some of fonts that could be modified to more closely match what you are after by converting them to outlines in Adobe Illustrator and then modifying the letter shapes.

A quicker, more organic, way would be to hand trace the fonts making the modifications needed and then scanning the result.

Either way is probably more work than it's worth so you may want to suggest some alternative fonts.

Thank you very much Oliver.

When I look at the letters I have, they do appear to be hand drawn and yes those are the only letters that were in the desk.

My intention is add a small platform to the bottom of the letter and then drill holes for axle pegs. I will then cut out the letters on a scroll saw and and my niece can then paint them with bold acrylic colors and I will put some wheels on them for the kids to enjoy.

It looks like I may be able to use or slightly modify the FF Suhmo Bold. Thank you again, and HAPPY THANKSGIVING.
